I’d like you to meet Rachel, another of my amazing 2016 model reps for my #2016rbmodel and #reneebowenSEEN modeling team that I’ve shot this summer. This shoot was one of four that Rachel and I will be doing over the course of her senior year…man, I love my job!! It’s so easy being a senior portrait photographer in LA when you have such amazing talent to shoot!

I’ve known Rachel and her family for years – I shot both her and her older sister’s (Allison) bat mitzvahs, and now both of their senior pics too!

This girl definitely marches to the beat of her own drum.

In her very “Rachel” style, she asked for something VERY different for her senior photos – a waterfall! UMMMM, Cali in the middle of a drought? OK! After a bit of research, I found a place in Malibu that still had a trickle of a waterfall left, but it would be a FOUR mile round trip hike! She and her mom, Stacy, were totally up for it!! Lexie (my intern), Jami, and I packed up our gear and we were off!!

We found lots of cool places along the way to shoot as well! We got a hell of a workout in and definitely earned our Chipotle dinner that day!

My good friend & expert MUA, Jami, did a great job on Rachel’s hair and makeup. It held up the whole time we were hiking!

Her makeup still looked amazing after hiking all that way!

Rachel LOVES to rollerskate!! I just had to grab some shots of her in her brand new white skates, and how cute is this Brandy Melville top?

Rachel’s sense of style is absolutely fabulous!! This jumper from Brandy Melville is just too cute!

I just love this colorful dress from Free People! 

By the time we got back down to the parking lot, it was starting to get dark. That didn’t stop us from getting some more great shots!!
I pulled out my Westcott Ice lights and kept on going!

We shot the last of these in the parking lot. There was this really cool rock wall – it was cool until we figured out it was full of BLACK WIDOW SPIDERS!! Isn’t Rachel is stunning in this Free People romper?

A park ranger finally shooed us away…I’ve got a permit that allows me to shoot in the national parks, but apparently shooting after sunset is a no-no! That’s OK though, it was a great day and I had gotten loads and loads of great shots!!
